We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager within the Insurance sector based in Leicester, as the Business Development Manager you will be required to seek new business, maintain and achieve growth in income from existing clients.

As the Business Development Manager the working hours are Monday - Friday 9.00am -5.00pm.

As the Business Development Manager your main tasks will be:

* To understand client's business operations, opportunities and risks and their approach to risk management and insurance.
* Obtain and communicate sufficient information to demonstrate an understanding of the risk and to support the broking process in accordance with company procedures.
* Offer and present insurance solutions including insurance policies and other risk management solutions, with purpose to secure renewal and/or new business.
* To expand existing client portfolio to include additional covers and to produce new business leads for the sales team.
* Plan client meetings in advance to meet with company procedures.
* Send Client communications including meeting agenda, notes and reports in a timely manner always ensuring their accuracy.
* Manage own files as per local procedures.
* Confining advice and information to those areas in which you are deemed competent, otherwise seeking advice as appropriate.
* To assist in ensuring that all post and diary activity is completed daily in accordance with the local procedure and performance standards.
* Always demonstrating the professionalism of our organisation, when visiting clients and in all communications.
* To maintain effective control in respect of allocated clients in line with Company procedures.
* To assist in team performance by regular communication with colleagues and manager to establish and raise concerns and provide solutions
* To ensure compliance with local procedures, customer service standards and external compliance regulations, e.g. FCA
* To undertake training in line with agreed objectives and keep up-todate with technical, legal and market developments via use of elearning, internal and external training and reading market related material.
* To conduct the business of the Company at all times in a courteous and efficient manner.
* To manage and develop the staff members that you are asked to supervise, overseeing quality of their work and supporting/coaching with any technical and market information.
* To ensure that all ongoing at desk coaching is logged for both the job holder and staff members who they are supervising in accordance with training & competency requirements.
* The jobholder will, at various times, act for the insured and insurer. The jobholder will be responsible for adhering to all the Group's procedures and policies in relation to the identification and management of potential conflicts of interest and for the fair treatment of customers, and will ensure they follow the systems and controls operating to ensure that this is the case.
* To undertake any other task or objective as may reasonably be required by the Company.

To be successful as an Business Development Manager you will require the following:

* You must have worked within the insurance industry doing a similar role
* Have technical knowledge on commercial insurance
* Although not essential a CII or Dip CII qualification would be desirable

Once appointed as the Business Development Manager you will receive a highly competitive salary depending on experience, pension and free parking.
